Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated October 5, 1961 reads, "A San Fernando Chihuahua named Useless disproved her name Tuesday. Between 9 and 10 a.m. she gave birth to six pups - each weighing two and two-third ounces. Total weight of the litter: about one pound. Mother, who weighed five and a half pounds two days before delivery, is now back to her normal three and a quarter pounds. Mrs. Eula Stillwell, 925 Newton St., owner of the brood, thought she ought to change her dog's name. It is unusual, she said, for a Chihuahua to give birth to so many pups. The dog's new name? A simple Daisy."
