Peter Powell Gallegos, at his Pacoima home, repairs broken toys which will be donated to needy children at Christmas while his children, Michael and Patricia watch. Gallegos, a blind man who recently lost his guide dog, Greta, to a hit and run driver, is hopeful that he will soon be able to train with a new guide dog. The dog will be provided by International Guiding Eyes, Inc., a non-profit organization which trains guide dogs for donation to blind persons. Photograph caption dated December 20, 1949.
