Photograph was edited for publication purposes Peter Powell Gallegos, at his Pacoima home, repairs broken toys which will be donated to needy children at Christmas while his children, Michael and Patricia watch. Gallegos, a blind man who recently lost his guide dog, Greta, to a hit and run driver, is hopeful that he will soon be able to train with a new guide dog. The dog will be provided by International Guiding Eyes, Inc., a non-profit organization which trains guide dogs for donation to blind persons. Photograph caption dated December 20, 1949.
