Description
This original footage of the Farallones Islands was shot by Dr. Robert Bowman during the course of his ornithological research. Bowman was an ornithology professor at San Francisco State University and was a fellow and trustee at the California Academy of Sciences. Best known for his research on Galapagos finches, Bowman also created some of the earliest-known footage of flora and fauna of the Farallones. Notes on label: Scenes of the Farallon Islands (June, 1958) and nesting sea-bird colonies: Western Gulls, Murres, Tufted Puffins, and Cassin Auklets (in burrows).
