Description
Crazy quilt in Tumbling Blocks pattern. Each block has embroidery or applique, and is edged with feather stitch. "Horizontal" faces of the blocks are in solid black; "left vertical" faces are in black with brown checks; "right vertical" faces are taupe striped with black. Borders are in trapezoid shape and also embroidered or appliqued, made of varying fabrics including velvet, satin and brocade. Embroidered on one end is "Little Auntie -- For Frances -- Xmas 1882;" embroidered on one side border piece is "Souvenir." Backing is green silk in very poor condition with red wool "puffs". Ends have zig zig points with tassels.
