Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated August 5, 1950 reads, "James P. McMann, whom doctors gave only a few weeks to live more than 11 years ago, and his wife, Mary, will celebrate their 62nd wedding anniversary next November. The home which they purchased at 619 E. Santa Anita Ave., Burbank, on the eve of the doctors' edict matched the mood of the couple in its dilapidated, dejected and deteriorated condition. But Mrs. McMann, with a woman's intuition, imagination and foresight patted her husband on the back and said, 'Don't you believe it!' Today, after 11 years of repairing, redecorating, painting, planting and cultivating, their home with its gardens it the showplace of the community."
