Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
Bathers and pedestrians stroll in front of the ornate bathhouse, or Plunge, at The Pike amusement park in Long Beach. A sign advertizes swimming lessons given by Prof. Willam A. Garrett who teaches "scientific swimming".; Started in 1902, The Pike ran until 1979. When the Pacific Electric line to Long Beach was built, the Long Beach Bath House and Amusement Company built this bath house on the beach near the end of the street car line.
