Description
Badwater in Death Valley is at the lowest point in the Western hemisphere at 280 feet below sea level. Signposts show distances from Badwater. The pool has animal and plant life, including the Badwater snail. In summer it is typical for the temperature to reach 120 degrees during the day. Telescope Peak is the highest point in Death Valley at over 11,000 feet, built up from the Panamint Mountains. Here there are thousands of years old Bristlecone Pines. Hikers that reach the peak will get stunning views of the surrounding desert.
