Freda Jackson of New York, Anna Iwanciw of Philadelphia, Hazel Johnson of Indianapolis (Ind.), and Andi Bly of Detroit
communists all, with their arms loaded with peitions which they tried to present to Congress. -- The petitions (signed by 1,139,995 persons) asked for a weekly dole of $25 for every jobless person in the country. A red was ejected from the House of Representatives when he tried to interrupt it with a speech from the gallery. (E-Feb. 10-31)" -- typed note attached to verso.
