Photograph of a letter from J. Marks, Organization Department, National Executive Committee (NEC), Young Communist League (YCL), Post Office Box 87, Station D, New York, NY to Morris Levine, National Student League (NSL), 114 West 14th Street, New York, NY, postmarked 21 December 1933. "Some time ago we sent you a brief note asking you to turn in a report on the organizational status of the fraction, etc. That was to be an approximate report. In the same letter we asked that by January 1st you prepare a detailed report on the basis of reports from each of your districts or locals, regarding the exact membership composition of membership (workers, students, etc.), etc. -- We ask that you take the necessary steps to get such information immediately. Our intention is to have the complete picture of our mass organizations by January 1st. The report should also contain information as the number of members on the various district committees, the size of our fractions, the circulation of whatever papers issued, etc. Let us have this at once."
