Description
Charles Macklin writes an unnamed correspondent regarding a copy of a letter sent to Mr. Smith. Macklin asks the correspondent for his opinion about particular parts of it. The second draft of the letter is brief and omits the quoted passages of the first draft. Mr. Smith may refer to William "Gentleman" Smith. The letter contains notations by a second hand.
