Photograph caption dated June 24, 1963 reads, "The first in a series of 10 sessions on Christianity and the Arts is discussed by the Rev. Verne D. Cooney, minister of education at Wilshire Methodist and a recognized authority of modern art; the Rev. Terry L. Cooper, assistant pastor at North Hollywood First Methodist Church, and Jim Merwin, a college representative. The series will open at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the North Hollywood church, 4832 Tujunga Ave., when Mr. Cooney discusses 'The Arts as Media of Religious Expression.'"
