Rocky terrain and sagebrush at Rancho Santa Teresa the site of Santa Teresa Springs, the Bernal mine, and The Bernal Marl Fertilizer Company. Pedro Alcantar Bernal, who was the grandson of Bruno Bernal, took over ownership of Rancho Santa Teresa after the death of his father Ygnacio Bernal, and started these businesses.
