Description
Clear aqua glass medicine bottle, rectangular in shape. Embossed "Dr. Kilmer's Swamp Root / Kidney / Liver & Bladder Cure / Binghampton, N.Y. / U.S.A." According to archaeological report by R. Paul Hampton Archaeological Consulting, Inc., this company was in business from the mid-1870s to post 1924. This bottle was likely made prior to 1906, because in that year, the Federal Pure Food and Drug Act prohibited manufactures of such nostroms from naming their products as "cures."
