Description
Dion Boucicault writes to Charles Kenney discussing a projected scheme for a new type of theatrical advertising, which Boucicault feels will be lucrative. He proposes to put out an 8 page paper consisting of illustrations of scenes and characters from the play being advertised, and biographies of the actors or the playwright. The paper will have advertisements and a bill of the play, and will only appear with the production of great pieces. The letter is written, as Boucicault notes, on the 30th anniversary of his great London success with the play 'London Assurance' (1841).
