Description
A log cabin and palm tree among a grove of trees at Baldwins Ranch. The photograph is a sepia image with a yellow border.
Printed on recto: Log cabin and palm, Baldwins Ranch, Pasadena, Cal. Baldwins Ranch refers to the land owned by Elias J. 'Lucky' Baldwin. The land contained groves of citrus trees, English walnut, a vineyard and cattle. Baldwin became the first mayor of Arcadia in 1903. He also owned the stables and land that later became Santa Anita Park. Part of his ranch later became the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden. This image has a yellow border and is mounted on a gray card.
Scanned with Microtek Scanmaker 1000XL Pro; as a 600 dpi TIFF image in 24-bit RGB color. Auto Level image processing applied and compressed into JPEG format using Photoshop CS3.
