Photograph caption dated January 2, 1962 reads "Michael Alan Swanson, 1-day-old, greeted the New Year as the first baby born in the Valley in 1962. The 6-pound, 13-ounce boy, shown with his parents, Dennis and Beverly Swanson, 10014 Laurel Canyon Blvd., Pacoima, was born 35 minutes after 12 a.m. Monday in Van Nuys Maternity Hospital. 14439 Emelita St. He is the second child for the 26-year-old father, who is a fireman, and the 18-year-old mother."
