For years, the little circus of 10 acts has made the rounds of Valley schools, entertaining both young and old. This week the circus played to the May Spring Festival sponsored by Chandler Street School PTA in North Hollywood. The playground was abound with unusual excitement. Children ate cotton candy, peanuts and popcorn, and waited for the show to begin. A round of applause rang out as 'Neena,' the elephant, the main attraction of the show, made her grand entrance with her mistress, Linda Strong. Enrapped expressions covered the faces of children and 'oohs' and 'ahs' were heard as each new act performed some daring new feat." Photograph caption reads, "Main attraction of the Johnny Strong Circus, which gave three performances at Carpenter Avenue School's May festival this week, is 'Neena,' the elephant. Riding atop Neena is Johnny's daughter, Linda, 8."; See images #00139134 through #00139138 for all photos in this series.
