Photograph article dated April 28, 1962 partially reads, "Maria Rodriguez, 14, now living in Burbank, was 'discovered' by a motion picture team in her native village of San Felipe, Mexico. But the discovery didn't lead to a movie role. But it did lead to a role the girl had long dreamed of playing, that of an American student. Maria's discoverers were Jull Murphy of Burbank and Miss Murphy's sister and brother-in-law, Bri and Ralph Brooke, who traveled to Baja California last summer to make a motion picture short entitled 'The Magic Tide.'" Photograph caption reads, "Marsha Gray adjusts Maria Rodriguez’s Girl Scout hat. Gloria Orr watches as the girls try to overcome language barrier."
