Photograph caption dated May 1, 1961 reads "Carlinda Kay, 4 1/2, 23027 Gainford St., Woodland Hills, picks up telephone in her nursery school grocery store. 'Yes sir? What's your order? Okay, I'll see if we have it.' Turning to Douglas Keeve, also 4 1/2, 22243 Flaneo Rd., Woodland Hills (2nd picture), Carlinda exclaims, 'Douglas! Somebody wants to buy something! There must be some milk around!' Phone caller Michael Schlesinger, 4, 5843 Lubao Ave., Woodland Hills (3rd picture), takes time off from his taxi service to claim the merchandise. 'There's some milk,' Douglas says, reaching for the top shelf. 'Never mind, I've got it already,' Carlinda retorts. 'Well, I don't know if I want it now,' Michael says meditatively. 'Well, awright,' he decides (4th picture). 'Wrap it up.' Carlinda, fresh out of wrapping paper, compromises. 'I can put it in this basket.'"; See images #00128805 through #00128808 for all photos in this series.
