Photograph article dated August 24, 1963 partially reads, "Returning linemen at Valley College will find an unfamiliar face waiting to greet them when they step onto the practice field the opening day of 1963 football practice. Ben McFarland, athletic director at the college, announced that Sal Terrusa will be the new line coach for the Monarchs. Terrusa is filling the coaching vacancy left by the death of Bus Sutherland last November. Nick Giovinazzo, last season's line coach, will take over the backfield duties that Sutherland handled. Terrusa is presently the head of the physical education department at Jacob Riis High School. He is a graduate of Los Angeles State College, but attended UCLA and played blocking back under the late Red Sanders in 1951."
