Description: A group of nurses is pictured with one of 84 food carts which convey meals hot from the kitchen to the wards, some of them half a mile away, at Los Angeles County General Hospital. This wheeled cart, with vacuum-insulated jars,is typical of the hospital's modern equipment. Meals are prepared by 306 cooks and helpers. Photo date: March 12, 1934.
