Photograph caption dated December 21, 1960 reads, "Mrs. John Perry, left, announces 'election' result to Mrs. Ruth Rentfro as winner of new honorary mayor of Sepulveda, Jim Ameche, looks on. Ameche, radio disc jockey, unhorsed candidate Ralph McCutcheon, a wrangler, for the post. He succeeds retired wrestler Jules Strongbow, who was mayor for nine years. Ameche polled more 10-cent-a-voice tickets in the Chamber of Commerce event than his opponent."
