Photograph caption dated March 12, 1949 reads, "Being readied for market - These steers in the J-L Ranch pens are being fed for market. The capacity for feeding livestock is increasing, and it is becoming a major phase of agriculture in Antelope Valley. The present capacity in the Valley today is for approximately 7000 cattle. Some of the feed lots also handle sheep. Feed lots seem destined to increase due to availability of abundant high grade hay."; See images #00131884 through #00131897 for all photos in this series.
