Description
Takumi "Tom" (1896-1965) Asano was born in Okayama. Tom came to the U.S. in 1915 and worked as a gardener at first. They purchased a home at 212 W. Walnut in Monrovia under their son, Tosh's name as aliens could not own land. Prior to their Walnut home, they lived in a Quonset behind their Myrtle grocery store. Tom and wife, Mary, were successful Issei entrepreneurs.
