Photograph caption dated July 29, 1947 reads, "That's what George Popescu is telling Dorsen Potter about his giant sunflower, which he says grew on a 16 foot 9 inch stalk, weighs 7 pounds 12 ounces and is sixteen inches wide. If that's not the tallest, heaviest and widest Valley sunflower, check with Popeseu [sic]--he lives at 5261 Cleon St., North Hollywood."
