Description
Rendered in circa 1910 is Sacramento High School, located at K Street, between Eighteenth and Nineteenth streets. Built in 1908 with the concrete of Adolph Teichert and Company and carpentry by C.J. Matthews, the interior of the school was filled with paintings, statues, and bas reliefs, including several replicas from Greco-Roman antiquity. What's more, the English Department included busts of William Shakespeare, John Milton, Ralph Waldo Emerson, and Alfred Lord Tennyson, to name a few.
