Description
Michael Viner discusses his book, “Shattered Dreams, Broken Promises.” He begins by explaining that the book reveals the stories of several women in the Soviet Union who have gone to desperate lengths to immigrate to the United States of America only to become strippers or prostitutes once they arrive. He then discusses the social and economic situation in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe that drives so many women to make such extreme choices. Viner later shares how the idea for the book came from his acquaintance with a Russian ballerina who married a bankrupt studio head. He then goes on to discuss his publishing company and the problems he has had as a small, niche-publishing company.
