Description
Typed letter from Mrs. Jean Savory Smith, Physical Education teacher at Kingsburg High School, attesting to the character, work and patriotism of Miss Tsugi Hamada. Mrs. Smith writes "It would grieve me greatly to see her relieved of her position."
James J. Kubo (b. 1916) was married to Tsugi Hamada (b. 1918) and opened an optometrist business in Sacramento in 1938. They had two sons, Ronald and Douglas, and a daughter, Beverly. He was incarcerated at Tule Lake Incarceration Camp until he left for Chicago and was drafted into the Military Intelligence Service (MIS). Mr. Kubo returned to Sacramento after completing his service at Fort Snelling, Minnesota.
