Photograph article dated June 13, 1950 partially reads, "County Grand Juror Eli Munz entertained nearly 300 people Saturday at a barbecue-picnic held on part of his 6500-acre ranch nestled among the mountains, 22 miles northeast of Castaic Junction. The spring-fed lakes were a perfect background for the colorfully attired picnickers to eat several hundred pounds of barbecue prepared by Arthur Etz, Eddie Kover of the Bull Pen Restaurant, Chris Sherri and Donomic Reca." Photograph caption reads, "Nearby resort - Mr. and Mrs. Eli Munz hosted nearly 300 people at big barbecue honoring County Grand Jurors, Superior Court Judges and peace officers. The lakes are situated near Lake Hughes and Lake Elizabeth in Bouquet Canyon."
