Description
Photograph caption dated August 17, 1961 reads, "Marni Nixon, second from left, runs through rehearsal of 'A Young Man Running,' by Jon Shepodd, the Valley's first original light opera to be presented Oct. 6 and 7. With Miss Nixon are Mmes. Glenn Houle, from left; Guy Ervin and Walter Brennan, members of Cadenzas, Women's Auxiliary of the San Fernando Valley Symphony Association, who will sponsor a preview of the opera at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Brennan home in Northridge. A buffet dinner and a fashion show will be included on the program, with proceeds going toward financing the October production. Phil Harvey, lyric baritone, will play the male lead."
