Title supplied by cataloger. On November 21, 1953, Andrew J. Kmiec was shot to death by a man who answered an ad for Kmiec's car. The man, Anthony Zilbauer, lured the insurance adjuster and friend Dolly Ann McCormick to Norwalk where he shot and killed Kmiec and stole the vehicle. Dubbed the "Want-Ad Killer," it was later revealed that Zilbauer had committed several other crimes related to newspaper classified ads. Zilbauer was convicted and was executed in the gas chamber at San Quentin State Prison in California on Mary 18, 1955. Pictured is Dolly Ann McCormick, 21, a witness to the senseless slaying of Andrew J. Kmiec. She is shown in her North Hollywood home after awaking from deep sleep induced by sedatives given her after the horrifying experience.
