Photograph article dated September 16, 1961 partially reads, "John Blair is a 17-year-old Canoga Park youth who's quitting high school one year before he would receive his diploma... in order to get a college degree instead. John, 6718 Rudnich Ave., discovered he had fulfilled the entrance requirements for Park College, a respected Presbyterian school outside of Kansas City, Mo. An application led to acceptance under the college's special plan for 'exceptionally well prepared students' who have not completed high school. 'There's no point in staying,' the youth said. 'I'd just lose a year here, but now I'll get into graduate school sooner.' His current plans call for a medical career."
