Photograph article dated December 9, 1963 partially reads, "Half time adjustments and a sharp tongue lashing by head coach George Goff paid off for Birmingham High's football team in its dash to the 1963 Los Angeles City football championship. Trailing 20-7 at intermission against Gardena, Birmingham quickly changed its defense and adjusted certain offensive plays with 'would work' and as a result exploded for five second half touchdowns to whip Gardena 38-27 and move into the championship game Saturday against Los Angeles." Photograph caption reads, "Birmingham High quarterback Craig Schusterick gets dumped hard by Gardena - Schusterick led Birmingham's 31-point second half comeback in the Braves' 38-27 win."
