Photograph caption dated April 6, 1962 reads, "Charlotte Armstrong, award-winning writer of mysteries, will greet patients and personnel of the Veterans Administration Hospital in Sepulveda next Friday at library open house which will climax National Library Week. Miss Armstrong will discuss her writing career during the open house social hour from 2 to 4 p.m. in the recreation hall. She is the author of 15 books and numerous magazine stories." Seen on the mantle is an Edgar Award presented by the Mystery Writers of America, possibly the award she received for her novel, 'A Dram of Poison.'
