Unionist arch, Percy Place, Lower Shankill, West Belfast, 1989. Lower left and right, Northern Ireland and Scotland flags; upper left and right, Union Jack and Northern Irish flag; centre: Union Jack with image of King William at Battle of Boyne, July 12th 1690; emblems on arch - names of places of Protestant victories - Derry (siege of Londonderry 1688-89); Aughrim (12th July 1691); Enniskillen (skirmishes in Fermanagh 1688-89); Boyne - Battle of Boyne (July 1st 1690). Ladders are reference to Masonic Symbol, Jacob's Ladder - Biblical reference (Jacob saw ladder from earth to heaven in vision - Genesis 28.11-19).
