Description
Unionist/Loyalist mural commemorating 50th anniversary of the Accession of Queen Elizabeth the Second to the British throne, Spier's Place, West Belfast. Portrait of Queen and various symbols of the countries of the Union (rose - England, thistle - Scotland, daffodil - Wales, shamrock and harp - [Northern] Ireland); orb and Windsor castle representing the monarch's authority. '1952 Long to Reign Over Us 2002'. Inscription at top reads: 'The 50th Anniversary of the Accession of Elizabeth the Second. By the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and our Other Realms and Territories, Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith'; 'The Queen's Golden Jubilee Year 2002'; '1952 Elizabeth II Dea Gratia Britannia Regina Fide Defensor'. Below, details of the Royal Standard (left) and Union Jack (right).
