The United Auto Workers opened the long, hot suummer of contract negotiations 7/17 with Chrysler Corporation by presenting its $3 billion package of demands to the smallest of the "Big Three" car makers. Talking before the start of the meeting at Chrysler's are (L-R): John D. Leary, anchorman of the Chrysler Corp. negotiating team, Leonard Woodcock, president of the UAW, and Douglas A. Fraser, director of UAW's Chrysler Department.
