Guardstone at the bottom of a flight of steps of a ruin near Thūpārāma. It is adorned by a Nāgarāja (snake -king) with a protective nine-hooded cobra head a behind his human head and holds in his right hand a long stem with a sprig of flowers and in his left hand a 'pot of plenty' (pūrnaghata), one of the eight auspicious symbols of Sinhalese Theravada Buddhism. The two nidhis, Padma and Sankha, are at his feet.
