In the storefront at Barker Bros., a Westinghouse Laundromat (washing machine) is displayed in the window. Also on display is an advertisement for a contest sponsored by All in which winners could receive a Westinghouse electric dryer. According to the 1955 Glendale City Directory, Barker Bros. was located on 240 North Brand Boulevard in Glendale. The image was taken on April 4, 1955, and was comissioned by Life Magazine.
