Description
Two women in morning & evening dress for November 1807. The woman on the left stands with her back toward the viewer. She wears a double-stranded, red bead necklace. She wears a white, full length gown with an empire waist and short sleeves. The sleeves are embellished with petals of white fabric attached at the shoulder. A red or pink shawl with green patterned hem and red and green tassel fringe is wrapped around her arms. She wears white pointed shoes and elbow length white gloves. The woman on the right has a violet purple hat with yellow-trimmed, purple ribbon wrapped around the top and tied into a bow on the front. A cream feather droops over the front of the hat. She wears bright red earrings. Her dress is full length and white with an empire waist. Three columns of buttons converge at the center of the bodice and creates one long column of buttons down the front of the dress. She wears a a full length, violet purple jacket over the dress with gray-brown lace trim. She wears brown gloves and a red shoes.
