Description
Photograph of a flock of sheep on the Newhall Ranch, ca.1900. The flock of lightly-colored sheep cover the field at center and appear to be recently shaved. Most of their heads are bent down to the grass below and cannot be seen. A wooden fence can be seen on the left with a large tree and several men behind it while a wire fence holds the sheep in on the right. A wooden shed stands behind the thin fence on the right while a grassy hillside occupies the background.
