Photograph caption dated July 8, 1959 reads, "Bob Ellithorpe, left, stands behind model 1883 Gatling gun as partner Ray Howser kneels with a percussion lock Ship Rail gun, 1866 period. These two collector's [sic] items are among many at Pony Express Sport Shop. Rail gun held by Howser was used on shipboard in early naval warfare. Other models of the Gatling gun were used in Civil War and Indian wars by U.S. Army."
