Description
A photo of Florin West Elementary School students Phyllis Haight, Vincent Tudisho, and June French in 1935. Florin West Elementary School was located on McComber Lane from 1887 to 1954, when they moved to a new location on Kara Drive. The old building continued to be used as a school until it was destroyed by vandals in the 1970's. Phyllis Haight was the daughter of Luther Spencer Haight, a rancher in Florin who raised cattle and grapes for 68 year, she married Robert D. Irving in 1942. June French was an active member of the Sacramento 4-H as well as the Masonic temples in the area.
