Description
Two women wear evening dresses from 1803. The woman on the right wears a long white long-sleeved dress with a light blue, empire-waisted bodice or jacket. There is lace detailing around the neck of the jacket, which is closed. The sleeves are short and blue and she wears long white gloves. She wears blue shoes and in her right hand she holds a blue and white fan. She wears a blue head band with a white scarf wrapped around part of the head band and draping down the left side of her face and body. She holds part of the scarf in her left hand. The woman on the left wears a long, white, empire-waisted dress. She wears shorter white gloves that do not reach her elbows. She holds a fan in her left hand. Her sleeves have a ribbon bow on each shoulder and the bottoms of her sleeves are lace. She wears a pink bonnet with a white ribbon chin strap and a white bow with white tassels is attached to the side of the bonnet. She sits sideways on a green and gold chair with her arms folded over the back, looking at the other woman.
