Description
Exterior view of Oil Tank Farm (Union Oil Co. of California), ca.1930. A bare, muddy yard with tire tracks lies in the foreground with the refinery on the dark, raised land behind it. A short, cylindrical structure stands at center with a ladder climbing up its right side. The walls of the structure appear to consist of rectangular, metal panels and a sign on the front labels the tank "70". Similar tanks stand in rows which extend to the left and into the background. A short, metal fence borders a lightly-colored platform in the background on the right while a thin, skeletal tower stands beyond the cylindrical structures towards center.
