Photograph caption dated October 7, 1961 reads "J. Edward Farrell, 500 E. Grinnell Dr., Burbank, watches Burbank Mayor Robert F. Brandon sign a proclamation declaring the week of Oct. 8-14 as Discover America Week. the project is being sponsored by the St. Cabrini Council of the Knights of Columbus in conjunction with Columbus Day, Oct. 12. Farrell, chairman of the project, urges citizens to 'think and be American.'"
