Description
Photograph of a monument dedicated to James M. Marshall, the discoverer of gold in California, Coloma, California, ca.1930. The statue of Marshall stands at the top of the pyramid-like, stone (or concrete?) footing. His left hand is made to look like he's holding something (possibly gold), while his other hand is pointing towards the ground. Wild grass and shrubs cover the hilly area around the monument.
