Photograph of a view overlooking the town Sutter's Creek, showing the hills in the distance, ca.1930. The centerground of the image is dense with trees and the roofs of residences. A few small buildings occupy the mid-foreground, with the rest filled by vegetation and post fence. The background contains tree-dotted hills which extend into the distance. Gold was discovered in Sutter's Creek in 1848. The creek crosses through the business section of the town.
