Photograph of prayer bells on a wheel at Mission Santa Barbara, ca.1900. Eight bells can be seen attached to the rim of a wooden wheel at center. The wheel turns freely by a crank attached to a rod held by a small wooden frame. The wheel appears to be attached to a wooden board.
