Photograph caption dated July 17, 1947 reads, "Inspecting the million dollar rock mine owned by John D. Gregg, a Superior Court group, led by Judge Alfred L. Bartlett, is shown beside a huge conveyor belt of machinery that grinds out 400 tons an hour at capacity. For two days the court convened in San Fernando Valley rock mines, gathering evidence in the current $350,000 damage suit brought against Gregg by residents of Roscoe. The trial was resumed in Superior Court at City Hall today."
